Three Clever Chicks (Jordan, Jasmin and Juli) combined minds, talents, skills, passions and hearts to create a ‘Be The Light’ lifestyle movement. We set out on this adventure to create an identity and subculture of kindness, generosity, hope and accountability in this chaotic world.
We have created a fun and positive space you can visit daily to get positive messages as well as tips and tricks on how to approach each day with kindness, service, gratitude, balance, hard work and compassion at the core.
We want you to have fun and we want to showcase all that is amazing happening around you. We want to share it with the world.
Meet The Team
Welcome to Lumen Rain! I hope you’re enjoying it here, as this whole process of getting our dreams to reality has made me so happy! You probably already know that I’m an eighth grader (13) who loves reading and writing. That’s my simple introduction, but since you’re still here, you can learn a little more.
I have a love/hate relationship with middle school (who isn’t) because I love learning, but I would rather only talk to my closest friends than do group projects. I’m known as the nerd/goodie-two-shoes and sometimes I feel like I’m the main character in one of those cliche dramas about the girl who wants to break the rules, yet unlike the movie, I don’t.
Books, music, and writing is my life. Chances are, when I’m not doing something related to school, or hanging out with my family and friends, I’m either going to be reading, writing, or singing/listening to music. Quick story, at the beginning of this past summer, I had a cold for almost two weeks. It was horrible because I couldn’t sing, but it opened me up to find a few blogs that I really enjoy:
The Londoner is a travel/fashion/food blog (so lifestyle) that is just so fun to read. Stories mixed with vivid pictures of stunning places take you on your own beautiful trip. I recommend the recipes part of it because, guess what, I also love to cook, but everything on there has a fantastic adventure.
Design for Mankind is a lifestyle blog with a writer who has such an amazing voice. The words flow together like music and make me wonder if I could ever write something like that. It doesn’t matter what you read on this blog, it’s all wonderful!
Be More with Less is a lifestyle (see the pattern) blog focused on a simple look on life. This author encourages living with less with inspirational posts and resources to do this. I am interested in her Project 333 and maybe I’ll commit to doing it sometime.
I look to these blogs regularly for inspiration, fun stories, and examples for Lumen Rain posts. Check them out if you haven’t already!
Another link I find is helpful for me as a young writer is Write the World. You can post finished writing pieces on your profile, enter writing into monthly contests, and get inspired by their almost weekly prompts. Plus, teens from all around the world are entering and posting their writing where you can read, like, and give constructive criticism on others’ pieces. If you do find this site as awesome as I do, please check out my profile, -writinginhopesofsomeday-, and give me a review. 🙂
With books, I love HP, PJO, and so much more that it would take days to get through everything. Unfortunately I can’t have Tumblr, but I do have Pinterest (Phantom7Angel) and I consider myself to be a part of many fandoms.
Finally, I am the main writer for our Lumen Rain blog posts. I work hard on each one to get the message that our team brainstormed onto paper in a fun way. I truly hope you will enjoy the posts I’ve written and I apologize in advance for the occasional typo. I have so, so much fun on this site, working with my friends and family to connect the world with a positive resource. My last thing I’d like to ask is if you could share our site with all your friends so that our impact can spread to everyone.
Every drop counts!
Starting off, I’m a listener and observer. I don’t really talk all that often around new people, but once you get to know me, I’ll talk pretty much non-stop. Also, it seems like I see everything around me.
I absolutely love sour anything. Although I have a sweet tooth, I might have a bigger sour one. Sour almost never describes my personality, but sometimes my parents say that I’ll turn into a lemon! Plus, if you ask me my favorite vegetable, I’ll always say tomatoes even though they are a fruit.
I’m always looking for something to do. Sometimes it’s watching YouTube and most of the time it’s doing gymnastics or hanging out with my friends. I love gymnastics because I get to be active and feel accomplished at the same time.
Random stuff about me:
I love, love, love dogs any size, well except for hairless and teeny tiny rat dogs.
Pineapple is my favorite fruit (well other than tomatoes).
My neighbors are called my “adopted sisters”.
Math is awesome, and to all those haters y’all are missing out.
I was born in New York and lived there for 8 years but never went to New York City.
Hello, Let me start by saying I’m Jasmin. I have one dog named Misty (best decision I’ve ever made.) Some interesting things about me are: I love Riverdale, I call my next door neighbors family, I want to be a photographer when I become an adult (or now), and I’m a fan of Happy Pooter (inside joke).
Although I don’t have IG or SC I love to be on Pinterest and I’m on it almost every day. You can say I’m shy ☺️ in the beginning but once you get to know me ‘ooooooh watch out’ because I’m loud (but just between you and me I choose when I want to be) and all I like to talk about are the shows I watch. I like to be alone every once in awhile and I love to FaceTime.
I have three adopted sisters (heehee not really) and one actual sister…still (just my dog.) In my free time I like to be on my phone, spend time with my friends, and be active. I’ve been through a lot with friends so if you need to talk I’m here to listen and help you through the problems. Anyway, enough about me we want to hear from you. We want to hear your voice.♥️♥️♥️
